Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 90 points

Mario Roagna's 2012 Barbera d'Alba Superiore Carolina shows dark color and big fruit tones, with dark blackberry, smoke and cinnamon, not that much acidity and sweet oak on the close. The wine ages in new oak for 18 months. Some 5,000 bottles were made.
