The 2012 Barbera d'Alba Superiore della Madre does a great job of portraying the versatile Barbera grape. Sweet cherries and blackberry are backed by savory touches of black olive and caper. The wine shows a great level of aromatic wholeness. In the mouth, it presents thick consistency and a chewy style with pretty accents of tart cranberry on the finish.
