Bill Knight

President, Owner

Bill Knight, President and Owner, has spent the last three decades making sure that The Wine House lives up to its motto “The Only Wine Shop You Need.” His tireless commitment to staffing the store with knowledgeable, professional wine consultants allows The Wine House to provide great service, selection and value to a broad range of wine consumers. Customers have recognized these efforts by bestowing the coveted 3-star rating from Wine & Spirits magazine’s consumer poll and Food & Wine Magazine has recognized The Wine House as one of ten Best Wine Shops in the World. Bill has also been chosen a Wine Spectator Market Watch Leader.


Glen Knight

New World Buyer, Owner

Glen Knight, New World Buyer and Owner, has spent the better part of the last two decades working the aisles of The Wine House. While attending college in Oregon, he labored as a “Cellar Rat” for a notable winery and as an assistant tasting room manager for another. He has held pretty much every job in the store – he started on the stock crew, moved to the order desk/sales and currently is the New World Buyer. He is passionate about New World Pinot Noirs, Cabernets, Aussie Shiraz, Riojas and Nebbiolo based wines. In addition to championing domestic wines, Glen loves discovering new finds in faraway places and has traveled to New Zealand and South America scouting the best wines to bring to The Wine House.

Jim Knight

Old World Buyer, Owner

Jim Knight has been in the wine business for over two decades. Jim inherited the “Wine Bug” from his father but he discovered his passion by doing cellar and vineyard work in Santa Barbara. In addition to wine, Jim is passionate about music, and he makes a Syrah called Jelly Roll, which pays homage to one of the greatest jazz musicians of all time, Jelly Roll Morton. Jim is the Old World Buyer, although his Central Coast winemaking experience makes him very knowledgeable about California Central Coast (Pinot Noir, Syrah and Chardonnay). He is very enthusiastic about red and white Burgundy, northern Rhone Syrahs (specifically Côte Rôtie and Cornas) and Nebbiolo from Piedmont.


JB Severin

General Manager, Tasting & Seminars Director

JB Severin is the General Manager, and Tasting & Seminars Director. His motto is “The more you know, the more you enjoy, the more you spend” (now you know how he got to be the Manager), is supported by his unswerving dedication to a strong consumer wine education program. He coordinates over 200 public and private events every year. As a 20-year veteran of the Wine House staff, he has the unique ability to assist and direct you in all of your wine buying needs. His answer to the often asked question: “If trapped on a desert island with only one choice of wine…?” is simple and straightforward: “Easy, Champagne!!”


Monica Marin

Director of WSET & WSG Education Programs

Monica is the Director of WSET & WSG Education Programs. Born and raised in Madrid, Spain, she attended the Complutense University of Madrid, where she graduated with a B.A. in communications, advertising and public relations. She then moved to London where she held several executive positions at marketing and hospitality companies. Monica enrolled in the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) where she successfully completed all of the wine certification levels and earned the WSET Diploma. Monica manages the two certification-level programs offered at The Wine House: WSET and the Wine Scholar Guild (WSG). She currently is a Master of Wine candidate. Throughout her career, Monica has visited the best wine regions of Italy and Spain, falling in love with the culture, wine and gastronomy in Piedmont, Tuscany, Rioja and Ribera del Duero. She has also traveled extensively in Germany, Austria, France, California, Chile and Argentina. Monica is a certified instructor for the WSET at the intermediate, advanced and Diploma levels in California, Mexico, Colombia and Chile. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and has a good knowledge of Italian and French.

Michelle Davis

Assistant Manager, Old & Rare Buyer

Michelle Davis is Assistant Manager, Old & Rare Buyer. Ten years ago, she started her wine career by accident after landing a position with Robert Mondavi.  Having found her true calling, she quickly moved to The Wine House to expand her knowledge beyond Napa Valley. Today, she is the Old & Rare buyer, a manager and senior salesperson.  Despite being in charge of the highest end department in the store, she is most passionate about introducing new wine drinkers to under the radar values as well as the wine world’s most overlooked grapes and regions.


Marla Foust

Spirits and Beer Buyer

The daughter of a pastor, Marla was raised in an alcohol-free household but after working in high-end restaurants in Denver and Washington DC, she discovered a love of wine. For years she continued down the wine path, completing her sommelier education and becoming a wine buyer/forager for a major retail chain. Then, after a brief time working at Churchill Down in Louisville, Kentucky, she discovered a fondness of bourbon which lead to exploration of other spirits. 72 countries make wine but only 12 countries in the world DON’T make a spirit so there is no shortage of things to learn, a challenge Marla has embraced. Marla enjoys all types of spirits but has to admit whisk/e/y and Green, VEP Chartreuse are her favorites.


Lisa Clark

Marketing Manager

Lisa grew up in Los Angeles, where her father was (and continues to be) a loyal Wine House customer. She is passionate about food, wine and travel, and will combine the three whenever she can. After working many years in London, first in Product Marketing for consumer (home) PCs at Compaq Computer, and then at a startup, she moved back to Los Angeles to be closer to her family and enjoy all that Southern California has to offer (weather, beaches, mountains, deserts, excellent restaurants…). She loves to cook with her partner Adrian (he now can tackle just about anything) – just don’t get her started about their latest gadgets (sous-vide, Instant Pot…)! She started at the Wine House fulfilling internet orders, and now looks after the “electronic” side of the business – the website and the promotional email campaigns (if you get emails from The Wine House, Lisa had something to do with that!) Lisa loves to sip a Provencal Rosé, enjoys wine tasting in Paso Robles, and has a soft spot for the some of the great value reds from Languedoc-Roussillon.


Adam Dromi

Wine Sales

Adam first discovered the Wine House as a customer while working for a major coffee company. His passion for wine sent him to Adelaide, Australia where he studied wine marketing and wine making. After university, he spent a few more years working for some great Australian wineries and traveling extensively in Australia and New Zealand. Upon his return to the U.S, Adam joined the Wine House team where his passion is, of course, all things (especially wine) Australia and New Zealand as well as the wines of Spain, Portugal, Israel and South Africa. When he is not working, Adam is planning his next trip, looking for new and interesting wines and always enjoying a good cup of coffee.


Daniel Guajardo

Daniel, a Los Angeles native, first caught the wine bug back in 1997, while working as a bartender for a Manhattan Beach restaurant that featured a By-The-Glass list of over 50 selections. With so much to choose from and sample, who wouldn’t get hooked? Dan was shortly named the bar manager, where he oversaw the creation of the liquor program, as well as the ongoing maintenance of the wine and beer list. Dan’s next stop was with a national retail fine-wine chain, where he served as the National Director of Wine, before settling in as the Northwest regional Director, based just outside of the Livermore Valley AVA in the East Bay. Homesickness eventually brought Dan back to L. A., where he is thrilled to be a member of the Wine House team.


Frank Delzio

Wine Sales

Frank has been drawn to the enjoyment of food and beverages for most of his life! The son of an American diplomat, Frank grew up in some of Europe’s culinary capitals and traveled extensively in Europe, gaining a deep appreciation for fine cuisine and wine.  This love of food and wine led him to pursue a Hotelerie Degree from the prestigious Centre International de Glion in Switzerland.  He began his career in various restaurants in NYC, eventually relocating to sunny Southern California where he managed several restaurants before opening a restaurant with his wife and partner (chef Josie Le Balch).  Most recently, Frank has decided to concentrate on wine trade, and enjoys spinning yarns about wine and telling wine-related stories.


James Blake

Wine Sales

James is a native Southern Californian who grew up in a family of wine lovers and collectors, so it was natural that he would land in the wine industry. After owning a sports memorabilia company and working in various business management positions since graduating from Pepperdine University, he realized that it was time to turn his passion for wine into a career. James first came to the Wine House as a customer and then successfully completed the WSET Advanced Certification course. He loves talking about and tasting wines from all over the world, but has a particular interest in wines from his home state of California.


Terry Nozick

Wine Sales

After spending 25 years in the world of high-tech publishing, while also raising two sons with her actor husband Bruce, Terry Nozick decided it was time to do what she really wanted to do … own a vineyard. Well that didn’t happen, so she decided to do the next best thing, which was to work in wine retail. It all began with her first wine class taught by Wine House GM JB Severin as part of her professional chef certification program. Terry has continued her wine education, and is currently close to earning her Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 4 Diploma. Terry has been working the order desk at the Wine House since the fall of 2014, and continues to learn something new every day about wine and spirits.


Therese Peters

Wine Sales

A Los Angeles native and a U.S.C. Graduate, Therese spent many years in the financial arena before deciding to retire from Morgan Stanley to pursue an encore career in the wine business. Throughout the years Therese developed a passion for wine, travel and fine dining which have all been easy to incorporate at The Wine House. She began studying wine at U.C.L.A. and now also holds the WSET Advanced Certification and the FWS French Wine Scholar Certification. She has traveled to all the major wine regions in California and France. During a recent safari trip to Africa she was able to learn about many wonderful South African wines as well. Therese is glad to share her knowledge and help you in selecting some of the most intriguing and satisfying wines you will ever taste!!
