Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 91 points
Another superb wine in an off year, the 1993 La Mission shows a deep plum/ruby color and a sweet nose of black fruits intermixed with charcoal and mineral. The wine is medium-bodied, with ripe tannin and elegant, concentrated richness that persists on the palate. This wine is coming into full maturity and should last for at least 10-12 years. This is undoubtedly the sleeper of the vintage. Last tasted, 9/02.
