Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 93 points
The excellent drainage in its terroir certainly helped the 2000 Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux-St.-Jacques in this rain-soaked vintage. Its gorgeously spicy nose gives way to a lush, ripe, velvety personality jam-packed with black cherries. Exhibiting outstanding depth, concentration, and clarity of flavors, this refined, expressive wine also reveals a long, supple finish. Anticipated maturity: now-2010.

Full medium ruby. Explosive aromas of black raspberry, bitter cherry, game and mocha. Dense, full and solid, but less expressive today than the premier cru, almost monolithic. But, Dugat assures me, there plus de choses dedans (roughly, more going on here). Really stuffed with material. Strong torrefaction notes of chocolate and roast coffee.
