A spitting image of finesse and elegance, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Mourre des Perdrix (69% Grenache, 15% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre, and the balance Cinsault) comes all from the sandy soils located around the estate. It offers lots of kirsch, garrigue and dried earth/sandy loam notes, full body, ultra-fine tannin and a great finish. This cuvee is always the more ethereal and silky of the three single-vineyard cuvees from this estate, and it’s drinking beautifully today.
