Bright, deep red. Sweet tobacco, licorice and leather complicate red cherry and dark plum on the nose and palate. Enters the mouth soft and supple by this estate?s standards, then toughens up and becomes more austere on the long finish. An outstanding Riserva: readers will have a hard time choosing between the high-acid 2008 and the fleshier 2009 made here. Both are very promising.
