Bold, big and ripe, this is jammed with personality and delicious rich fruit. Raspberry and toasted spice aromas lead to layered huckleberry, cracked pepper and smoky caramel flavors. Zinfandel, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Drink now through 2018. 740 cases made.

(80% zinfandel, 17% syrah and 3% mourvedre): Opaque purple. Powerfully scented, alluring bouquet of candied raspberry, blackberry, incense and Asian spices. Silky red and dark berry flavors stain the palate, delivering solid punch without any excess wight. Finishes clean and sweet, with impressive persistence. Trevisan told me that the pH for this wine was "right below 3.4," which is roughly the same as a lively New World pinot noir.
