Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: 95 points
Bright gold-tinged straw. Intriguing musky aromas of apricot, ripe citrus, nuts, smoke and earth. Fairly rich and broad in the mouth but with firm acidity providing a lively mouthfeel and lifting the penetrating citrus, peach and mint flavors. Boasts terrific palate presence and outstanding persistence. The gripping finish conveys a chewy impression of extract. I usually prefer the Schoenenbourg or the Altenberg by Deiss, but this year it's a toss-up between these three outstanding wines.
