Etienne Barre and Christophe Reboul Salze, purchased Chateau Belle Coline in 2011 through their holding company, Reboul Salze. Before purchasing Chateau Belle Coline, the owners, Etienne Barre and Christophe Reboul Salze were already quite experienced as wine makers in Bordeaux. They already owned Chateau Les Grands Marechaux, also located in the Cotes de Blaye appellation as well as Chateau Chateau Gigault.
The 12 hectare, Chateau Belle Coline vineyard has a terroir of clay, limestone and sandy soils. The vineyard is planted to 90% Merlot and 10% Malbec. The vines are old. On average, they are close to 45 years of age. However, Chateau Belle Coline has old vines that over 60 years of age.
