Wine Spectator: 90 points
Medium-bodied and harmonious, with refined tannins and a subtle mix of ripe black cherry, loamy earth, underbrush, spice box and cocoa powder. Juicy finish. Drink now through 2021. 50,000 cases made.

Opaque inky ruby color. Smoke and tar nuances complicate plum and blueberry on the captivating nose. Big and dense, with lively acidity lifting the stony black fruit and underbrush flavors. No easy sweetness here but plenty of size and structure. The long finish features mouthwatering acidity and a hint of ink. I have long believed this to be Masciarelli?s best wine.
