The melodic notes of Ribeca, named after the rebec, the forerunner of the violin, are seductive thanks to the captivating simplicity of the Perricone grapes. This wine preserves the enchanting personality of a variety that is not very widespread but is rich in history and, after years of absence, only Firriato has had the heroic inclination to plant again on the Pianoro Cuddìa estate. Perricone is the most demanding variety, with small grapes and uncertain yields that vary from year to year. Difficulty in adapting to soils means Pianoro Cuddìa is the only estate with land that can provide the high level of quality needed for Perricone, however it is a constant challenge for Firriato.

The grapes of this autochthonous variety create a harmonious symphony on the palate, enhanced by the sensuality of small red berries that allow you to lose yourself in the timeless contemplation of the past and what the future may bring.

Tasting notes

Colour: deep, dark ruby red with a purplish hue.

Nose: the complexity of the bouquet offers a captivating revelation of delicate notes of blackberries, plums and Marasca cherries, accompanied by sensitive nuances of liquorice, ginger, cloves and juniper berries. Unrivalled riches fragrant with Sicilian character.

Palate: fresh and irresistible tannins enhance the elegance and sumptuousness of a wine that knows it shines with inimitable charm. Its fruitiness is vivacious and ambitious, nicely balanced with a reduced and pleasant acidity. A clean palate is needed to enjoy its authentic fullness.
