Product Description
100% old vine Carignan, from vines averaging 135 years in age, planted to well-drained gravelly soils. Made according to traditional methods to amplify the natural character and intensity of the fruit, with four months of aging in a combination of tank and barrel. It has deep purple color, with aromas and flavors of blackberry, savory herb, and spicy licorice. Its concentration of fruit is balanced by fine acidity and an undercurrent of minerals. The wine is elegant and approachable now, but will also benefit from 6-10 years of cellaring. This is the perfect choice for grilled meats, charcuterie, and cheeses. Bruno Ribiere completed the conversion of his vineyards to organic viticulture in 2007 and the domaine is Ecocert certified organic.
