Le Petit Haut Lafitte white 2013 was created during the blending process of the Grand Vin
Château Smith Haut Lafitte. The different lots of wines were treated with the same care as the lots that went into the Grand Vin. Therefore the winemaking techniques used were identical from the harvest to the vinification and ageing. The blend is 80 % Sauvignon blanc and
20 % Semillon.
From the Winery: The Petit Haut Lafitte white 2013 offers a clear pale yellow color with green hue.
The nose is expressive with bright notes of white fruits (grapefruit, pear), white flowers as well as
dry fruits with a dominance of hazelnut. The mouth presents a very interesting balance with the
straightforward acidity from the Sauvignons blanc and the texture and the smoothness
from the Semillons. The wine has a very classic gravel style, displays a rich balance sustained by a sharp acid structure. The aroma expression is both fresh and tense, dominated by the Sauvignon with citric fruits, grapefruit, lemon and white peach on the attack. Then the length reveals in mouth the characteristic notes of hazelnut and acacia flower from the Semillon. This well-balanced and long wine is to be enjoyed from now on…and will match perfectly with white meats and fishes.
