Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar – 98 Points "Very pale rose gold color. Incredible high-pitched nose combines strawberry, iodine, cinnamon, rose petal, minerals and earth. Almost painfully intense in the mouth, with a brilliant kernel of spicy fruit and pure minerally soil tones. With its bracing acids, this is distinctly austere today, yet the texture is remarkably fine-grained and there’s great sweetness of fruit lurking. An essence of iodiney soil character; like a hypothetical blend of a great Montrachet and a Gevrey-Chambertin grand cru. I hesitate to score this rose even higher than Krug’s great 1990 Clos du Mesnil, but this was the best bottle of Champagne I tasted this fall." – Stephen Tanzer, Nov/Dec 03
