Falmet's NV (2008) Le Val Cornet is gorgeous. Rich, deep and powerful, yet also light on its feet, the Val Cornet shows superb depth and fabulous overall balance. Red berries, flowers, anise and spices flesh out in a broad, creamy Champagne endowed with serious structure. Chamomile, green apples, pears and dried flowers are further nuances on the finely-knit, chiseled finish. I especially admire the sense of precision here. The Val Cornet is a Pinot Noir/Meunier blend, disgorged in May 2012 and bottled with no dosage.
