The Wine House is pleased to offer the WSET Level 1 Award in Sake course! Instructed by Toshio Ueno, SSI WSET Certified Sake Educator, Certified Master Sake & Shochu Sommelier. It is ideal for consumers or those new to sake with the focus on:
Main sake ingredients
Main production steps
Principal categories and grades of sake
Speciality styles of sake
Controlled production steps
Japanese labelling terms
Storage and service
Common faults
Principles of food and sake pairing
Social and health issues

The class consists of a session of 6 hours that concludes with a short 30-question multiple-choice exam of 45 minutes. Successful candidates receive the internationally-recognized WSET® Level 1 Award in Sake. 

WSET Level 1 Award in Sake is strongly recommended for those who have little training in or knowledge of sake.

The WSET L1 Award in Sake includes: 6 tuition hours by Master Sake Sommelier (SSI Japan) Toshio Ueno, printed study guide, tasting of 8 sakes, exam fee, certificate and lapel pin to successful candidates. Light sushi lunch is included.
