The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is deep, plush and inviting, with a rush of fruit that takes hold of all the senses. Voluptuous and super-expressive, the 2013 is sure to find many fans. Inky blue and purplish fruit, spices, mint and white pepper are all laced together in a sumptuous, inviting wine. Mocha, plum and blueberry jam are some of the notes that grace the supple, open-knit finish. This is an especially accessible Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon, but I doubt there will be too many complaints about that.

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon (77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Malbec and 15% Petit Verdot, tipping the scales at 15.1% alcohol) has an inky purple color, a beautiful nose of blueberry and blackberry fruit, licorice and spring flowers. It is complex, rich, full-bodied, opulent, sexy and lush. This is a 2013 to drink now, as well as cellar for 10-15+ years.

Though firm and dense, this is charming and agreeable already, with dried dark berry, sage and cedary oak flavors folding together. Appealing suppleness. Drink now through 2028. 6,558 cases made.
