1997 Canalicchio di Sopra Brunello di Montalcino

The dark ruby/garnet-colored 1997 Brunello di Montalcino exhibits a moderately intense bouquet of ashtray, cedar, dried herbs, and red currants. The sweet, ripe attack is followed by a medium-bodied, lush, surprisingly up-front Brunello. It is meant to be consumed over the next 10-12 years.
