What a wine. A deep and powerful wine with a full body, super silky tannins, and a lengthy finish. The power is mind-blowing, reminiscent of something like a 1998 Cheval Blanc, but better. This still has some life left in it. Check back in 2015. Review Date: April 2013
The nose is pure, freshly crushed berries and cherries with lilacs. Full-bodied and very, very concentrated, with big, ripe, powerful tannins, but it's all in harmony and length. Layers of fabulous fruit. It's just a baby. Wait and watch it grow up into something amazing. Best after 2012. 250 cases made. ?JS Review Date: February 2006
The 2000 Barolo Riserva Rocche dell'Annunziata is another exceptional Barolo. Impossibly fine, silky tannins support sweet red cherries, raspberries, rose petals and spices, all of which come together in the open-knit style that is typical of this great site. This, too, is another fabulous Barolo from Scavino. Review Date: June 2011
