The 2006 Altesino Montosoli Brunello di Montalcino hails from the prestigious Montalcino region in Tuscany, Italy. This wine is characterized by its rich flavors of dark cherry, plum, and hints of earthy spices. It showcases the Sangiovese grape's acidity and tannic structure, providing depth and balance, typical of high-quality Brunellos. With age the upfront fruit and tannins soften and the overall structure becomes more cohesive, complex and elegant.
It pairs well with robust meats, aged cheeses, and hearty pasta dishes, making it an excellent choice for special occasions or as a complement to a gourmet meal.

Savory, revealing juniper, tomato leaf, cherry and plum aromas. This is also meaty, with dark fruit flavors backed by a dense, angular structure. Picks up a hint of medicinal herbs on the long finish. Very Montosoli.—Non-blind Altesino/Caparzo Best from 2025. Retrospective (April 2022).
Perfumed and fruity, with dried cherries and citrus fruit. Wow. It really opens on the nose giving so much gorgeous fruit. Full body and very dense, with dried cherries, cedar and hints of coffee bean. Powerful and rich. Try it after 2015. Review Date: Jan 17, 2011
