2010 Epoch Authenticity Proprietary Red Paso Robles

Sweet, floral notes meld into dark fruit, road tar and crushed rocks as the 2010 Authenticity opens up in the glass. The 2010 is a gorgeous, elegant wine endowed with considerable polish. In 2010, winemaker Jordan Fiorentini used 38% whole clusters, high for Epoch, and also fermented a portion of the fruit in concrete, both of which seem to work beautifully here. Authenticity is one of the most refined of these 2010s. The blend is 76% Syrah, 24% Mourvedre. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2017. Review Date: August 2012
