2010 Oddero Barolo DOCG

The 2010 Barolo is a gorgeous wine that is already well fleshed out despite the youthfulness of the fruit. The results are compelling and rich with velvety overtones of Amarena cherry, baking spice, tobacco, wet earth and sweet nutmeg. The oak element is evident (this base Barolo aged in botte grande from Slavonian oak for 30 months) but well on its way to finding integration within the general fleshiness of the wine. Given the high quality of fruit, this base Barolo should boast a long drinking window. Drink: 2017-2030. Review Date: June 2014
