The 2011 Gevrey-Chambertin Village has a tightly coiled, earthy bouquet that takes you straight to a forest-floor on a damp October morning. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp blackberry and raspberry on the entry interlaced with white pepper and a touch of balsamic that lends freshness and tension. Good length in the mouth, this is a delicious village cru, though the 2012 just has the edge. Drink now-2024+. Review Date: February 2014
