2013 Graham Beck Brut Rose South Africa

Mostly Pinot Noir, with 7% Chardonnay, the 2013 Rosé has a nutty cheese-rind expression with spiced strawberry and apple tones. It starts off with potential but quickly becomes disjointed. The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes were pressed together, and the wine spent five years on the lees. There is a crispness on the palate, and the wine ends with a brisk finish, leaving me underwhelmed and wanting more depth and complexity. Over 42,000 bottles were made.
