The 2013 Outpost Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon hails from the esteemed Howell Mountain region, known for its rugged terrain and volcanic soil, which contribute to the wine's concentrated flavor profile. Expect rich notes of dark fruit, such as blackberry and plum, complemented by hints of cocoa and subtle oak nuances, creating a well-structured and balanced palate.
This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs well with hearty dishes like grilled beef, lamb, or wild game.

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 20 months in 75% new French oak prior to bottling) demonstrates the vintage’s great intensity, purity, structure and potential high ceiling. Opaque blue/purple with notes of graphite, blueberry and blackberry fruit, charcoal, incense and a full-bodied mouthfeel, the wine has noticeable, but sweet, well-integrated tannins, acidity and wood. This wine is young and promises to be even better in another 5-6 years and keep for 20-30 or more years. (RP) 95+ Review Date: October 2015
