The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Meleagris Gallopavo Vineyard is just as good (as the 2013), but in a much different style. Where the 2013 is primordially and inward, the 2014 shows the more supple, sexy style of the vintage, yet doesn't lose a beat with regards to density, depth, or length. Think of these two wines as comparing a First Growth Bordeaux from 2009 versus 2010. This heavenly juice offers a liquid rock-like minerality in addition to fabulous notes of cassis, currants, scorched earth, charcoal, and flowers. Full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, perfectly balanced and with ultra-fine tannin, it has a finish that won't quit. As with the 2013, it needs 2-4 years of cellaring. These are two off-the-chart efforts from winemaker Christopher Tynan, and they’re certainly some of the greatest young wines I’ve ever tasted. The ship may have sailed, but if you don’t know who Christopher Tynan is, now’s the time! Drink through 2062. Review Date: December 2017
