2014 Dievole Chianti Classico

The 2014 Chianti Classico is 90% Sangiovese with smaller parts Canaiolo and Colorino that sees 12 months in large oak casks. The 2013 vintage is a true standout, but this vintage does not meet the same level of clarity or depth. This is a refreshing and elegant wine for sure but the adverse growing conditions have taken away from the wine's overall brightness. The gorgeous 2013 Chianti Classico Riserva Novecento is a better buy. That wine is also on the market now and I reviewed it last year (awarding it 93 points).
