2016 Hahn Estates Chardonnay Santa Lucia Highlands

Bright yellow. Ripe pear, peach and smoky lees on the nose, joined by an emerging hint of vanilla. Smooth and broad on the palate, offering juicy orchard and pit fruit flavors and a touch of bitter quinine. The smoky note comes back on the spice-tinged finish, which is sharpened by a jolt of tangy acidity. Review Date: October 2016
