2016 Sciacchetra Azienda Possa + Scersce Cinque Terre

The 2016 Cinque Terre Sciacchetrà (packaged in a very tall 375-milliliter bottle) opens to a copper-ornage color. This skin-fermented dessert wine is not too sweet, but it is very rich in glycerin. The bouquet shows candied fruit and dried orange peel, but it also offers tangy notes of sandalwood, cigar smoke and Spanish cedar. This wine is thick in the mouth with mild acidity.
