2016 Tablas Creek Roussanne Paso Robles

Wafting from the glass with notes of apricot, subtle spice, beeswax and citrus oil, the 2016 Roussanne is a glossy, textural wine with good cut and balance. Elegant and understated in profile, it concludes with a saline finish. This is fermented and matured in foudres, demi-muids and barrels, seeing only around 10% new oak. Bottled in December, this is a comparatively reserved rendition of the Tablas Creek Roussanne, and I'd expect it to really unwind with a few years of bottle age. Review Date: May 2018
