2016 Willi Schaefer Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spatlese

The 2016 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese is enormously fruity and fine on the nose, offering ripe and juicy peach aromas underlined by very delicate slate and flint notes. Super elegant, lithe and piquant but also structured and generous in its endless juiciness, this is a gorgeous Spätlese with lingering piquancy, grip and mouth-watering salinity. This Spätlese is only the second wine produced from the young vines that had to be replanted after the Flurbereinigung in 2012. Review Date: April 2018
