2018 Bodega Catena Zapata Chardonnay Catena Mendoza

Pale, bright yellow. Fresh, pure aromas of peach, fresh apricot and white flowers. Enticing juicy, dry Chardonnay with pristine stone fruit, citrus and floral flavors, plus a subtle touch of oak spice. Offers a lovely combination of density and definition for its modest price and finishes firm and persistent. Winemaker Alejandro Vigil told me that he used the malolactic bacteria from 2017 for his 2018 Chardonnays as they were "fresh and perfect," and that the malos were also very long in 2017, which he likes.
