2019 Luis Seabra Indie Xisto Douro Red Blend

"The 2019 Indie Xisto is a field blend (mostly Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca and Tinta Amarela) sourced from 70-year-old vines in a single vineyard in Alijo at 500 meters in altitude. It was aged for 18 months in used French 500-liter barrels and comes in at 13.7% alcohol. A strong contender for best of this tasting, this tightly wound Indie is powerful, precise and long on the finish. The fruit is under those tannins, though, and it has fine flavors waiting to come out. That will require another couple of years.
