2019 Mauro Molino Barolo Conca DOCG

"From the site of Conca, a small amphitheater where the Molinos own one-third of the vineyard, the 2019 Barolo Conca offers up pure aromas of red cherry, fresh balsamic herbs, and sweet flowers. The most concentrated of the wines in the range, it is still medium-bodied but has more richness throughout, as well as a more solar feel, with ripe wild raspberry, tea, and sweet tannins, though more grip. It leans toward the muscular side while retaining amazing purity and freshness throughout. If Luciani is the Burgundian equivalent of Chambolle Volnay, then Conca is the Gevrey-Chambertin." - Audrey Frick Review Date: May 2023
