2019 Puramun Reserva Malbec Valle de Uco

“The 2019 Malbec Puramun Reserva from the Uco Valley was aged for 12 months in 15% new barrels. Garnet red with a purple sheen. The nose begins with ripe notes of prune, herbs, chutney, oaky aromas and a whiff of ash. Quite smooth and indulgent with a bold expression, grippy tannins and a fruity finish, this is a ripe wine that leaves a touch of wax behind on the tongue. “The 2019 Reserva Malbec is peppery, spicy and herbal in a way that resembles more a Cabernet or other Bordeaux blend with more of these aromas. However, the wine is ripe and hits the scale at 15% alcohol and has a round and full palate with abundant, slightly coarse tannins after 12 months in French barriques. Might need more time.
