“Largely in the same style as the base Summa Vineyard, the 2019 Pinot Noir Summa Vineyard Old Vines comes from a tiny selection from this estate vineyard located far out on the Sonoma Coast. It reveals a similar translucent ruby hue as well as gorgeous aromas of framboise, mulberries, dried herbs, crushed stone, and white flowers. These all carry to a medium to full-bodied Pinot Noir with a rounded, supple texture, slightly more tension and focus than the base cuvée, and just a gorgeous finish. It’s far from unapproachable today, yet it will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and cruise for over a decade.
