"The 2019 Syrah Gimblett Gravels is suave and fluid, flowing across your palate like a surfer on a wave. It unfurls in the mouth, expanding and caressing the palate with its silken raspberry essence, cracked pepper and agave notes. The tannins are very fine in their powdery texture and coat the palate like honey - no surface escapes. And yet this has just 13% alcohol, retaining a sense of lightness on its feet. It finishes fragrant and long, with bright acid drive, reminding us that it's on the margins for Syrah to thrive.
