“Based on 45% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and 25% Mourvèdre, aged 28 months in neutral French oak, the 2022 Second Street Cuvée is ruby/plum-hued and semi-opaque. It has a classic Grenache nose of spicy black cherry and raspberries intermixed with garrigue, pepper, and sappy flowers, with a hint of rose petal with air. Medium-bodied and balanced, it has a graceful mouthfeel and ripe, integrated tannins. It will do just fine in a lineup of solid Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
