Germany is becoming the next big thing for cool-climate Pinot Noir, and this shining example from Wittmann in the Rheinhessen is another classic. From the estate vines in the village of Westhofen on the biodynamically farmed estate. Elegant and savoury with a refined sense of Old World rusticity. Beautiful aromas of rose petals, forest floor, garden soils and sweet pipe smoke. The palate is a medley of juicy red berries, gorgeous notes of dried mint leaves, and sweet, smoky clove. Delicious.
