NV Mestres Cava 1312 Reserva Brut (was $18.99)

The company can trace their roots to the year 1312, and the NV 1312 Reserva Brut is named for that year. Although this is a vintage wine, it does not have the vintage year explicitly listed on the label. The wine matures in bottle in contact with the lees for some 18 months, so the disgorgement date, available on the back label, can give you an idea of the vintage you are drinking. I was told that the wine I tasted was from 2015 and had a disgorgement date of November 2017. It's an easy-to-understand Cava produced with 40% Parellada and 30% each Xarello and Macabeo. It has some appley, fruit-driven and young aromas and a refreshing personality with good balance. Easy and pleasant. 50,000 bottles produced. Review Date: April 2018
