NV Pierre Peters Champagne Reserve Oubliee Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut

Based on the 2012 vintage, the NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Réserve Oubliée is as superb as ever, unfurling in the glass with aromas of waxy lemon rind, confit citrus, warm bread and dried white flowers. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with racy acids and all the concentration that's typical of the base vintage, concluding with a long, chalky and sapid finish. This cuvée originated in Péters desire to prove that long maturation on the lees could contribute just as much to a wine as barrel maturation, and the point has been amply made.
