This course is a 9-week structured online program that begins on May 25 and concludes with in-person review and tasting sessions, plus in-person exams in August in Los Angeles. Students must enroll by Thursday, May 14, 2020 at the latest.

Friday, August 7, 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM: In-person review session with tasting exam prep including tutored wine tasting of 12 wines

Saturday, August 8, 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM: In-person theory review and exam prep; lunch break; 3-hour exam includes tasting and theory

Suggested prerequisite: Pass the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines or equivalent qualification level.

The Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 3 Award in Wines (Advanced Certificate) course is intended to provide in-depth knowledge of a wide range of wines and is open to students who hold the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines or can demonstrate knowledge at Intermediate level through completion of equivalent education courses or sufficient wine trade experience.

This 9-week interactive online study program is flexible to work around your existing commitments. The WSET Level 3 Award in Wines Online course covers the same syllabus as the classroom course but through a supported and interactive online classroom which allows you to study alongside your peers under the guidance of the online WSET educator.

The WSET Level 3 Award in Wines requires students to prove competency in theory and tasting. The examination for the Advanced Certificate is in two parts, a theory examination of 50 multiple-choice questions and four short-answer questions and a tasting examination consisting of a blind tasting of two wines. The WSET recommends that students complete 90 hours of study (10 hours per week over 9 weeks) during their course of study. The WSET Level 3 Award in Wines is a prerequisite for students wishing to progress to the Level 4 Diploma Course. Students cannot enroll in a Diploma course until they have passed the Level 3 Course.
